American Comedy Network Gets Serious With Osiris
03/31/2004MILFORD, CT - The American Comedy Network (ACN), a subsidiary of media giant Jones Radio Networks, Inc., and thunkIT, announced a major innovation in the American Comedy Network's operation that is expected to increase revenue and opportunity while reducing costs.
"With Osiris, a web-based content management tool configured to our specific requirements, we're seeing gains in control, user-friendliness and distribution that far exceed anything we've ever had before. We expect this new web portal to have a far-reaching impact on improving our quality of service, and the ease with which our customers can access it," states Kurt Luchs, General Manager of the American Comedy Network.
Through its syndicated National Features Service and Onion Radio News offerings, the American Comedy Network supplies hundreds of comedy radio shows throughout the world with audio comedy bits and material. The newly launched web-based portal has been designed to dramatically streamline that process.
The solution for the American Comedy Network (http://www.americancomedynetwork.com), is powered by Osiris, a web content management suite developed by thunkIT, a mid-market provider located in the 9th Square District of New Haven.
Jonathan Biebesheimer, CEO of thunkIT, explains that "with Osiris, ACN's non-technical personnel have the ability to manage the publishing and management of hundreds of audio files, users and documents. The non-technical interface is key, because it eliminates the bottleneck that sometimes occurs when an organization has to run everything through its IT department. Consequently, Osiris increases ease and efficiency on a grand scale."
Biebesheimer goes on to explain that "the Osiris platform also includes analysis and reporting tools which provide the American Comedy Network critical insight into how content is being used and consumed on public and affiliate resource areas." With the insight provided, the American Comedy Network will be able to refine the content offerings in order to better meet the needs and requirements of the intended audience.
The American Comedy Network's Creative Director Joel Graham says, "With a system that lets us know exactly which affiliates are using what parts of our service, and how often, we'll gain a much clearer understanding of what works best with each station format and in each part of the country. We've never had this level of market intelligence at our fingertips before when making strategic creative decisions."
In addition to access to delivering key operational tools, Osiris represents the foundation for fundamental changes and improvements within the American Comedy Network.
"Not only will this solution enable us to better serve our core business-to-business customers in radio," Luchs adds, "it also gives us the infrastructure we need to get into the consumer market in a big way for the first time."
About The American Comedy Network Through its National Features Service, the American Comedy Network supplies the world's funniest radio shows with the world's best audio comedy bits.
