Osiris v2.2 Released
03/01/2004NEW HAVEN, CT thunkIT, a web-based application development company located in the 9th Square District of New Haven, recently announced the immediate availability of Osiris, the company's second generation web content management suite, designed to enable organizations to deploy and manage powerful dynamic web sites efficiently and affordably.
At the 2003 Midsize Enterprise Summit, an annual event conducted by Gartner, Inc, one of the industry's leading research and consulting companies, more than 400 midsize business decision-makers came together with technology vendors and Gartner analysts. At that summit, it was irrefutably established that a predominant driver for technology investment (ranking at about 50% of all surveyed) is improved operational efficiency.
According to Jonathan Biebesheimer, CEO of thunkIT, operational efficiency is one of the central themes around which Osiris has been developed. The Osiris WCM Suite enables non-technical content producers to create, manage and deliver web content, without any specialized technical knowledge. A web solution using Osiris can be implemented far more quickly than heavily customized solutions, ultimately saving time and development expense.
thunkIT introduced more than a dozen enhancements in Osiris, including core platform components that improve scale, decrease development time of custom functionality and strengthen the software's ability to handle far more intensive business environments. In addition, Osiris now features an even more robust set of industry-standard midsize business level features including greater content deployment and syndication functions as well as user access and workflow management. The redesigned Administrative user interface provides an even greater means to manage content and web resources, anticipating the needs of the higher end of the product's target user. These new enhancements augment Osiris' already rich feature-set, and provide more tools for efficient site administration.
To date, the Osiris WCM Suite has already been chosen by several local and statewide organizations, including the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation (http://www.cttrust.org) and INFONewHaven.com. Both organizations are using the web as a primary means of information distribution and dissemination. Additional implementations are scheduled for launch early summer, 2004, with three national and international corporate clients who will be using Osiris to serve their customers and market on a global scale.
